Nokia Lumia 800 update triples battery life

Triple your loyal Lumia's juice with the latest update from the Finnish mobile giant's labs

Nokia has released its long-awaited 12070 firmware update for the Lumia 800 – an impressive offering that’ll triple the phone’s battery life, according to WPCentral.

The boffins over at XDA Developers have put the welcome performance boost down to an improvement in screen brightness management and an 80mA battery drain when idle as opposed to a previous drain of 150mA.

The update has already rolled out in Singapore and we expect Lumia 800 owners in the rest of the world will be chowing down on their increased battery lives sometime in the next week – so stay tuned.
