B&W P3 headphones unveiled
These £170 cans from Bowers & Wilkins caress your eardrums with natural sound, and your lugholes with memory foam
Hot on the heels of its popular P5 headphones and C5 earphones, Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled the more affordable – but still high quality – B&W P3 headphones.
Available in black and white flavours, the P3s come with interchangeable leads – a standard cable for MP3 players, and one with a three-button mic for iPhones. To change them, you just pop off the magnetic earpads – which caress your lugholes with memory foam earpads for maximum comfort – and plug the cable inside the headphone. So there’s no chance of the cable getting snagged and popping out – a nice touch.
B&W claims that the P3s serve up a “truer, more natural sound” by using drive unit terminals that allow uniform airflow, resulting in less distortion. Check back for our full review of the P3s soon, where we’ll be putting those claims to the test. Then you’ll know if they’re worth shelling out the £170 that these cans will cost when they’re released in June.
