Onkyo DS-A5 gives your speaker system AirPlay

Worried your iPhone 5 will mean getting a new dock? Onkyo has you covered with its DS-A5 AirPlay enabler

The iPhone 5 has landed, making old speaker docks useless without a pricey adapter – unless they have AirPlay. Fortunately, the Onkyo DS-A5 has arrived, to kit your speaker system out with some AirPlay smarts.

The DS-A5 works with many stereos – but those with Onkyo kit are at an advantage. For example, using its Remote Interactive cable wakes the stereo through AirPlay and allows control of the dock from a traditional remote. There’s also an old 30-pin connector for those with older iPhones or iPods that need charging while in AirPlay mode.

The Onkyo DS-A5 will be out in the US from October for US$200 (£123).
