Orange Tahiti

Orange is venturing into the world of own-branded Android tablets, launching the 7in Tahiti.

The Tahiti's specs aren't mind-bogglingly impressive by any stretch of the imagination. Based on the same Huawei MediaPad that underpins the T-Mobile Springboard, it's rocking a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor together with a 5MP camera as well as the standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity.

It arrives packing Android 2.3 Honeycomb, though with Huawei beavering away on an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to the MediaPad, an ICS upgrade may be in the offing for the Tahiti before too long.

The Tahiti is available for £70 on a £25, 24-month contract. That data plan will net you 1GB of anytime data as well as 1GB of "quiet time" data.

It's also available on a 24 month plan with the San Francisco II phone, with £41 a month netting you a 2GB data allowance.

If you're tempted by a trip to Tahiti, check it out at Orange's website.
