MobileMe’s woes haven’t let up since the .Mac replacement finally went live with the launch of the iPhone 3G. So much so that Apple is now offering punters another 60 days free service, on top of the 30 they already handed over by way of an apology last month. In an official statement, Apple said, “The transition from .Mac to MobileMe was rockier than we had hoped. While we are making a lot of improvements, the MobileMe service is still not up to our standards. We are extending subscriptions 60-days free of charge to express appreciation for our members’ patience as we continue to improve the service.”Let’s face it, that’s as contrite as Jobs and the boys ever get, so at least that’s a result. MobileMe is making progress, but it’s still got some way to go before users are happy to fork out a subscription. As ever, keep us posted with any problems you’re having with the service in the forums and the comments section.
