Panasonic shows off touchscreen FX550 digicam

Not content with giving feature fans a feast with their new TZ7, Panasonic has turned its attention to the fashion crowd. Top of the pile is their new

Round the back you get a super sharp 3in touchscreen for fondling your snaps, as well as a full set of buttons for those with podgy digits or folks who prefer to keep their LCDs fingerprint free. We had a play with it last week and have to say it worked a treat.

It crams in the latest must have for all digicams – face recognition. This means it won’t just pick out a face, but know exactly who it’s snapping too. You can then store your pics by person too, just as you would on the spanking new iPhoto.

Features certainly aren’t lacking either, with a 25mm wide angle Leica lens, 12MP, 5x optical zoom and 720p HD shooting.

For those not so keen on stroking their snaps, then Panny’s also got the new FX40, which rocks all the same features minus the touchscreen.
