iOS 6 release date potentially revealed

The next iteration of iOS could be with us next month. But will we see a new iPhone to go along with it?

Apple’s updated iCloud website suggests that we’ll be seeing an unveiling of iOS 6 at Apple’s WWDC event on June 11th.

9to5mac has reported that there are references to an iOS 6 beta in the recently updated iCloud beta website, suggesting that an updated iCloud service and iOS 6 will be revealed next month.

beta.icloud.com appears to be up and down at the time of writing, but screenshots of a new icon grid have been obtained by 9to5mac, which show icons for Reminders and Notes applications – backup support for which we can expect to see in the iCloud update.

We’ve already seen rumours of Apple ditching Google Maps in favour of its own mapping software in iOS 6, and coupled with a potential iPhone 5 reveal at WWDC (with its release slated for September), this year’s WWDC looks set to be jam-packed full of iGoodness.
