Gizmon iCA5 turns your iPhone 5 into a rangefinder camera

Fool people into thinking you own a Leica when you’re really only taking Instagram photos

Gizmon has launched the iCA5, an iPhone 5 case that clads Apple’s mobile in the clothes of an old-timey rangefinder camera.

Obviously the iCA5’s “lens” is a dummy, and the iPhone 5’s camera still takes shots through an opening in the corner, but the case isn’t just for show: you can attach different accessory lenses (sold separately) to add effects like fisheye and centre focus, and there’s a working shutter button at the top of the case.

Made of polycarbonate, it features a foam layer inside to add cushioning for the iPhone, plus a screen protector and cleaning cloth. There are four different coloured leather cases available too.

You can pre-order the Gizmon iCA5 now from FourCornerStore, where it’s priced at US$60 (around £40).
