Extreme close-up with JVC’s massive zoomer

We don’t condone spying on your neighbours, nor do we suggest you try it. But if you’re really desperate to record some untoward goings on round at No 42 (perhaps you suspect them of secretly reading an inferior gadget website) then this extreme zoomer from JVC will do the curtain-twitching job.In amongst a lot of rather mundane and mid-range specs, it claims to have the world’s highest optical zoom rating at 34x – that’s enough to capture even the smallest actions through the upstairs window of your suspicious friends next door. Those uninspiring specs include a 2.7in LCD screen and some low-light shooting skills. There’s no high-def or hard drive and it’ll record to old school miniDV in 16:9 or 3:4.No news of a European release yet but it’s out in Japan in mid-January for all you neighbourhood watchers.
