Just a few hours too late to slip into our wigwam of green gadgets on the Stuff vidcast, this bamboo laptop is yet more evidence of tech makers turning into tree huggers. It belongs to Asus, which has designed the Ecobook as the ultimate environmentally friendly laptop – and not just because of its renewable source casing.Take the recyclable plastics, easily labelled so they can be removed when the time comes to finally sling it in the tech graveyard. And don’t go looking for harmful paints, sprays or electroplating on its circuit boards because you won’t find them, no sir. What you will find is a components enclosure made from stiffened cardboard (no really) and easily upgradeable parts so that you can trade bits up rather than throw the whole thing away in consumerist haste.Sadly it’s not due out ’til next year so watch our vidcast for more tips from our friendly green presenters.
