Most time capsules contain a newspaper, coins and influenza, but inside Apple's version is something altogether more useful.
Somewhat overlooked amid all the MacBook Air excitement at yesterday's Macworld, Time Capsule is an Airport Extreme Wi-Fi base station with added hard drive.
Not the sexiest combo we'll admit, but it does mean you can now have all the benefits of Leopard's never-lose-a-file-again back-up service, Time Machine, without having to plug an external hard drive into your lappy – quite a consideration if you're a new MacBook Air owner with only one USB port to your name.
Being wireless, it can also back up every Mac in the house at the same time. Nifty, eh?
Apple says the disk is 'server grade', which at least sounds secure, and will come in 500GB or whopping 1TB flavours. It arrives next month.
