Aston Martin just designed its most extreme SUV yet – with armour plating and weapon storage
Aston Martin has designed a brand new SUV that will never touch tarmac – because it only exists inside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
Aston Martin has built a new SUV. You’ll never drive it, though, because it doesn’t exist in the real world. Meet the Dreadnought. It’s a digital-only, military-spec vehicle designed exclusively for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
Aston Martin worked with the game’s developer, Infinity Ward, and publisher, Activision, to bring it to life. The result is a tactical, all-wheel drive SUV built to survive the most brutal in-game environments.
I love this idea. Car makers have been dabbling in gaming tie-ins for years, but this one really stands out to me. Aston Martin hasn’t just slapped a badge on an existing in-game car, it’s designed something entirely new, freed from the constraints of the real world.
The Dreadnought still looks unmistakably like an Aston Martin. It’s got herringbone-weave carbon fibre, an Oxford Tan leather dashboard, and a metallic gold gear lever.
Features not seen in an Aston Martin are the military-grade armour plating, a reserve fuel tank, and bespoke weapons storage.
Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, says he imagined the Dreadnought living in the real world too, tearing through New York streets and Mumbai monsoons, even though it will only ever exist on screen. He also confirms it keeps the brand’s signature Chiltern Green paint and Satin Gold door hinges.
There’s a proper V12 soundtrack too.
The name isn’t random, either. Dreadnought nods to HMS Dreadnought, the early 20th-century British warship so advanced it created an entirely new class of vessel. That’s a fittingly grand reference for a car built to dominate a battlefield, even a virtual one.
Players will find the Dreadnought scattered around key points of interest in both DMZ and Warzone modes at launch.
Infinity Ward’s Jack O’Hara says the team engineered everything from the physics to the propulsion to match Aston Martin’s real design philosophy, just dialed up to 11.
If you want to see the Dreadnought in the metal, so to speak, Aston Martin is showing a full-size model at Fanatics Fest in New York.
As for getting your hands on the digital version, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on Friday, 23 October 2026. It’ll be available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
