Sony WF-1000XM6 in-ear buds could offer a welcome hint of colour at launch

The Sony WF-1000XM6 earphones are just around the corner with a new leak suggesting a Sandpink hue will be available at launch.

Sony’s WF-1000XM series of wireless earbuds have long set the standard for noise cancelling, but those seeking to add a little colour flair to their listening experience have been left wanting with the options from launch.

The WF-1000XM6 might change that, if a recent leak has been believed. Sony is planning a new Sandpink hue to accompany the existing black and silver shades for the current and previous generations.

While Sony offered a Smoky Pink WF-1000XM5 after launch, according to the reliable Roland Quandt, this new Sandpink colour will be available at launch. “You might want to add “Sandpink” to the list of colours of the Sony WF-1000XM6 earbuds,” the WinFuture.de reporter posted on Bluesky.

Whether there’ll be much of a difference between the new Sandpink and the previous iteration’s Smoky Pink remains to be seen. The next-generation model is set to arrive within the next couple of weeks, according to a different leak from earlier this month from the Walkman Blog.

That claimed the ANC Buds would be available from February 12 costing $330 in the United States. That’s the same base price as the existing model.

The XM5 model has been around for nearly three years so, so they’re due a revamp. Our reviewer gave them a five-star review for their exceptional ANC abilities, super sound quality and wonderfully comfortable fit.

He concluded: “Improves on what were already some of the best noise-cancelling in-ears around, with even better ANC, a more comfortable fit and stellar audio. They’re pricey, but the WF-1000XM5 are absolutely worth it.”
