iOS 5 jailbreak out already

Apple’s latest mobile OS launched on schedule last night, with the hacking community hot on its heels

As sure as night follows day, the release of an Apple iOS update is always swiftly followed by a jailbreak. And sure enough, just as iOS 5 lands to test Apple’s servers to the limits, the ever-reliable iPhone Dev Team has unleashed a jailbreak.

At the moment it’s a tethered jailbeak requiring you to connect your device – be it iPhone 3GS, 4, iPod Touch, or iPad – to a machine running Redsn0w. Hopefully an untethered release will be hot on its heels soon.

So if you want to keep all your favourite jailbroken apps on your iDevice and still upgrade to iOS 5, pay a visit to the iPhone Dev Team homepage.
