Light sleeper: meet the lamp that’s also a pillow

Settle down with Soft Light, the gloriously squidgy light bringer

German designer Simon Frambach has created a squishable lamp which is soft enough to use as a pillow.

The balloon-shaped Soft Lamp is made from polyurethane foam and houses an energy saving light bulb protected by a cage.

Soft Light

The porous polyurethane foam gives off an invitingly (and physically) warm glow and, coupled with its red power cable, makes the Soft Lamp look like a big marshmallow with a strawberry shoelace rammed into it. Tasty stuff.

While we’re not sure how comfortable we’d be placing our head on top of something that’s plugged into the mains, it’s handy for reading in bed – and the Soft Lamp’s squidginess also lets you squeeze it into gaps to hold it in place.

Sadly, Soft Light is not available to buy, at least not yet. We’ll let you know if and when it hits the market. Softly.
