Blackberry App World 3.0 beta gets homescreen search and social media

The new Bold and Torch models get a much-needed App World revamp

Got your eye on the latest batch of Blackberry handsets? As a bonus, RIM has not only been overhauling Blackberry OS features for the upcoming release of OS 7 but it’s also been tinkering around with Blackberry App World.

The first of the new features are available now for Blackberry users who sign up to the Beta Zone and include the addition of home screen search, Spotlight Banners and Top 25 lists for the most popular categories and easy app-sharing to BBM contacts, Twitter and Facebook. There’s also a new My Account section – handy for monitoring app-spending if you find it hard to resist the lure of the ‘download’ button. As if…
