Nvidia's Tegra 4 – aka the fastest mobile processor on the planet – lands at CES 2013

Nvidia has taken the wraps off its worst kept secret, the Tegra 4 mobile processor. So what can you expect from 'the world's fastest mobile processor,' then? Well, for starters, it crams in 72 GPU cores, four A15 CPU cores and a 4G LTE modem.
All well and good – but what does that actually mean for 2013's next-gen smartphone users? For one thing, Nvidia claims that the Tegra 4 is so powerful that you can have an always-on HDR camera which lets you take one-shot HDR snaps and HDR video on your smartphone.
And for web browsing, you can load up 27 high traffic web pages in 25 seconds – versus 50 seconds on a Nexus 10.
Then, of course, there are the games: Nvidia showed off a demo of Dead Trigger 2 to put the Tegra 4 through its paces – and we have to say, we can't wait to play it on a 2013 Android tab.
Nvidia also claims that the Tegra 4 is faster than the A6X processor in the iPad 4 – which we can vouch for as being pretty snappy – so we'll be waiting patiently for the first Tegra 4 devices to land.
