New iPad 3 pre-order deliveries delayed

OK, hands up who ordered an iPad 3 on the night of the Apple announcement? Firstly, shame on you for not waiting to read our hands on review or watch our first look video review before throwing yourself at Cupertino's newest piece of kit.

Secondly, have a gold Apple-shaped star because you and the other early birds are getting Apple's new iPad – complete with HD Retina Display and beefed up A5X chip – on March 16th and a whole lot of other enthusiastic pre-orderers… are not.

If you head over to put money down on the new iPad today you're now looking at a wait of two to three weeks for a UK delivery, as all the stocks Apple had allocated for pre-orders have sold out already. The Apple Store queue in the early hours of the 16th it is then – save us a spot.
