Apple Store down – iPhone 5 incoming

When the Apple Store goes down, it can only mean one thing – new kit is on the way from Cupertino. And, like clockwork, the Apple Store site is now displaying a "back soon" message ahead of today's event.

Odds are that Apple will be taking the wraps off the iPhone 5 – but what surprises does Apple have up its sleeve? Recent rumours suggest that we could be seeing the 5th generation iPod Touch – complete with iPhone 5-style 4in screen – being outed. A 13.3in MacBook Pro with Retina Display could be on the cards too – and there's always the slim possibility of an iPad Mini putting in an early appearance.
