Xiaomi's just announced its new phone will be announced this Valentine's Day.
UPDATE 8/2/2017: Xiaomi's forums have just posted new pictures of a limited edition Hatsune Miku version of the upcoming Redmi Note 4X.
Fans of the Vocaloid avatar will consider this a must-buy - with gorgeous packaging, a special phone case as well as a power bank included with the smartphone, this will make a great gift. Whether you give it to yourself or a loved one, we won't judge.
More details have also emerged about the phone's specs: it will apparently come with a Snapdragon 625 processor as well as a Full HD 5.5in display and five colour choices: green, gold, grey, pink and black.
Final pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed but be sure we'll share the details with you once they are revealed.
A very likely popular update
The dual-SIM phone will likely be another 5.5in-display phablet. So far the rumours are that it will house a Mediatek Helio X20 chipset, various RAM options (2GB, 3GB, 4GB) and storage options of either 32GB and 64GB.
As for the camera, it will probably have a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, with a fingerprint sensor also in the back. Battery-wise, probably a generous 4100mAh battery is expected in keeping with Xiaomi's usual battery sizing.
An external microSD card will probably also be included but as for a Type-C port, if it's being targetted to its usual budget market, it might use the cheaper microSD slot instead of the pricier Type-C.
It is unlikely to be a big upgrade from last year's Redmi Note 3, which we reviewed.
