It’s a Xiaomi Mi3S, no it’s a Redmi 2, no it’s a Redmi Note! Okay, we’re not exactly quite sure what it is too. Xiaomi has been teasing us – just as much as you – on what it’s releasing on 15 May.
Xiaomi has been in our headlines quite a bit these few weeks, and here’s another reason for it to do so.
All Xiaomi has revealed on its Singapore Facebook page is a multi-coloured spiral (which you see above), with the caption "New products are coming your way on 15 May. We'll be doing live updates on event day itself. Make a guess what we'll be launching!".
So many possibilities
Our crystal ball tells us it could be a Xiaomi Mi3S, a Redmi 2, or a Redmi Note. But with all the hype about the possibility of Xiaomi releasing a Redmi Note in Singapore in May, we’re going to take a shot and put our money on its release.
For those of you who haven’t heard what the Xiaomi Redmi Note is all about, it’s the Chinese electronics vendor’s first phablet. Let’s talk geeky for a bit – there’ll be two configurations for the phablet, which will both utilise the octa-core MTK6592 chipset, but one would sport 1.4GHz with 1GB of RAM while the other will consist a 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM configuration.
Both versions also feature a 5.5in In-Plane Switching (IPS) display with a 720p screen, a 13-megapixel back camera and 5-megapixel front camera, as well as dual-sim support.
If you hate suspense just as we do, we feel your pain. Just twiddle your thumbs, play the waiting game and hope it's the affordable Android phablet coming your way.
