The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is the latest in Xiaomi's bestselling budget range.
It has a 5.5in Gorilla Glas display with a Snapdragon 425 processor, a decently-sized 3080mAH battery and weights just 150g.
How much RAM here? There's 2GB as well as 16GB of storage and microSD support, with a 2+1 tray that lets you store the microSD and SIM cards in one slot. There's also infrared as well as a 13MP rear camera. In front you also get a 16MP selfie camera with a frontfacing LED flash for the best possible selfie lighting. The base model however has no fingerprint scanner.
There are two more higher-specced models - they both have the Snapdragon 435 processor instead, with one having 3GB ram and 32GB storage while the highest specs has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Both will include the fingerprint scanner missing from the base model.
The base model is priced at RMB699 (S$140), the 3GB version at RMB899 (S$185) and RMB1199 (S$245). No news when or if the model will make its way overseas.
