The HTC One (M9) has been making headlines, and now that we’re getting closer to MWC 2015, the leaks are coming at full speed. But not much has been revealed about the alleged HTC One M8i, the mid-range alternative to HTC's popular One (M8).
That was the case, until now. Leak extraordinaire, @upleaks, has just divulged more information about the purported smartphone. And it’s not just one or two vital features, it’s literally almost the whole of its spec sheet.
So, here’s what you can expect – it’s been reported that the unit will pretty much have the same physical characteristics of the One (M9), as well as dimensions and weight of the One (M8). This means you will most likely get your hands on a solid more-metal-than-ever build.
In addition, the 5in 1080p display, 2GB of DDR4 RAM, BoomSound speakers and microSD slot you find on the One (M8) is said to remain unchanged on this device. What you might find different on this unit is a Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) chip with two sets of four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.7GHz and 1.0GHz.
You’ll also possibly find a 13MP + 2MP camera configuration with dual LED flash on the back, along with a 5MP front snapper. There’s also the usual NFC and Bluetooth 4.1 functionality. However, its battery is said to be less than 3000mAh, but no specifics were mentioned.
The purported phone will come out of the box running on Android 5.0 with Sense 7.0 and will come in gray, gold, and silver colour options.
HTC is said to out the HTC One M8i alongside the HTC One (M9) at MWC 2015 in true blue Apple style (since it launched the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus at the same time). We’ll bring you more official information then.
