Strap the Samsung Gear S2 on your wrist from 2 October

The Tizen-powered smartwatch comes in two versions, with prices starting from S$448

Look here if you have the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 5, for you have a new accessory that’ll play nice with the Android smartphone.

The Samsung Gear S2, which got a brief appearance last month, will be available in Singapore from this week. Specs-wise, the Gear S2 is an 11.4mm thin smartwatch, complete with a 1.2in display with a 360 x 360 resolution. 4GB of internal storage houses the smartwatch apps, all of which are powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor.

Likewise, battery life will be a concern for some, but Samsung has improved it to three days, a stark contrast to the shorter lifespans on Android Wear smartwatches. And not to forget, a lot better than the single-day use you get out of the Apple Watch.

It comes in two variants, sporting the names Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic. The name itself is quite apparent, with the classic version taking on a more traditional watch look, complete with a leather band. It’s also more expensive, priced at S$548. The Gear S comes with a lower price tag at S$448, and is available in a Dark Gray case with a Dark Gray band or Silver case with a White band.

Both smartwatches will be available from 2 October.
