Remember how we told you about Singtel’s 1Gbps Unlimited Fiber plan sometime in August last year? Yes, it’s the one that promises unrestricted peer-to-peer downloading services all day in a high-speed, high capacity broadband setting. Singtel’s now got it on offer.
Just for the festive month of February (thank Valentine’s Day or Chinese New Year for this), the telco has reduced the price of this broadband offering to a special price of S$50 per month from S$99.90 (it did cost S$69.90 on a two-year contract for a limited period of time).
In addition to the dip in the price, the telco will also include its fiber termination point installation (worth up to S$481.50) as well as its optical network termination installation (worth S$90) for free. As if that’s not all, subscribers will also be able to get 10 per cent off their Singtel mobile subscriptions.
Last year, as a special bundle, Singtel presented the Asus RT-AC87U router for S$299 (UP S$399) with a two-year subscription of the plan.
This time around, if you sign up for the 1Gbps broadband connection, it’s partnered with Linksys to offer you a S$100 discount voucher on the recently launched Linksys EA9200 AC3200 Tri-band router (UP S$399) - meaning that it will only cost you S$299.
The new router is said to provide networking speeds of up to 3.2Gbps, has six antennas (three external and three internal) for stronger Wi-Fi signals, and is tailored for use in large or small homes.
If you do intend on purchasing the Linksys EA9200 AC3200 Tri-band router without this deal, you can get your hands on it for S$399 at Challenger stores. It will also be rolled out across all other leading IT and consumer electronics stores island wide from end-February.
