Singtel and M1 users can use mobile data with no cost-sequences this weekend

On the other hand, Starhub users won’t be getting free mobile data love

If you’re staying in Singapore this weekend, feel free to Instagram videos of the flyby and post NDP photos to Facebook all you like this weekend. But only if you subscribe to either Singtel or M1.

As part of the celebrations, M1 will be waiving data charges for both its prepaid and postpaid customers. Just make sure you’re throwing all data caution to the wind only between 12am, 7 August and 11.59pm, 10 August. You’ll also get free local calls and SMSes.

Singtel postpaid customers won’t be charged for any data used between 12.01am, 7 August and 11.59pm, 10 August. While prepaid customers won’t be getting the same sweet deal, they’ll get 50 per cent more value for top-ups.

As for Starhub subscribers...

The telco has confirmed that they won’t be offering free data à la the other two telcos via Twitter. StarHub has been offering free previews of selected channels since 9 July and will continue doing so till noon, 11 August.

Before you start kicking up a fuss about the injustice of life, don’t hate, appreciate. It’s only a matter of days before life returns to status quo, and you’ll have to once again have to proceed with data caution.
