If you're ever flying Qantas first class, then you could be lucky enough to try Samsung's VR tech on the plane (as though you aren't getting spoiled enough).
Customers in Sydney and Melbourne International First Lounges will get to enjoy the service as well as first class cabins on selected A380 routes. As of now, Qantas is the only airline offering VR as part of its entertainment options.
A different kind of flying
The service is currently on trial for three months to see how customers will respond.
No word, though, what exactly they'll get. What is confirmed is that there will be among other things a "special 3D experience from Kakadu National Park". Inflight VR advertising, here we come.
Besides adding a new dimension to inflight entertainment, perhaps VR would make things like safety demos less boring or distract antsy fliers.
