Samsung launches high-spec flip phone

It'll only be available in select Asian countries though, so don't get too excited, nostalgia-seekers

Samsung continues to make flip phones for a few Asian countries and the W2018 might be its highest-spec modern flip phone yet.

Nostalgia central

The phone has dual 4.2in FHD displays and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which makes it pretty much a high-end phone, what with it also having 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

No dual cameras here but there will be an impressively wide aperture of F/1.5 for the rear camera, which sports a 12MP sensor. The 5MP front camera has a decidedly smaller sensor though.

Also expect a fingerprint scanner on the back. Iris scanning is rumoured to be supported as well, and the W2018 will come with a dedicated Bixby button. Battery-wise, it packs 2300mAh of juice. But if you're looking to get your hands on it, that might not be so easy. This variant is likely to be a China-exclusive since the W series is a Samsung collaboration with network operators.
