Have you met the Galaxy Tab S3?
Samsung’s latest tablet is a 9.7in looker with a brilliantly bold Super Amoled display. Watching movies on this will be quite the visual experience as it comes with 10-bit HDR video playback and quad speakers that have been tuned by AKG by Harman.
The Android tablet is also intelligent enough to know which mode you’re using it in and adjusts sound accordingly so you get the best aural experience possible. More of a mobile gamer? The Tab S3 comes with the Game Launcher first introduced with the S7 phones to keep interruptions away because you want to fixate on your gameplay from start to finish.
It looks as good from the back as it does from the front. We’re glad that Samsung has moved on from using plastic for its Tab series. Life in plastic, it’s not all that fantastic. The new Tab S3 has a gorgeous build of metal and glass, similar to the Galaxy range of phones. Just make sure you don’t drop it.
Here’s one more thing in its favour - it comes with the S Pen. That means you don’t have to cough up extra for Samsung’s improved stylus. Its fine tip and 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity will give you the flexibility to take notes with its Screen Off Memo function, and then doodle on them after. There’s also a POGO keyboard cover available if you prefer feedback when you type, but that’s additional.
Under the hood, RAM has increased from 3GB to 4GB for smoother multitasking and there’s a big fat 6000mAh battery to keep everything going. Forgot to charge your Tab S3 overnight? Adaptive fast charging will make sure you don’t have to go without your tablet on your commute.
The Galaxy Tab S3 will be available in Black and Silver on 29 April. Wi-Fi and LTE variants will cost you S$898 and S$1098 respectively. Each Galaxy Tab S3 will come with the S Pen and earphones on top of your usual USB-C cable and travel adapter. Feel free to read our hands-on review to help you ponder your purchase.
