Samsung calling its smartwatch the Gear A

The SDK for the device has revealed its likely specs

Word is that when the Galaxy Note 5 is announced, Samsung will also unveil its Orbis or Gear A smartwatch,

The official developer SDK has revealed quite a bit of the watch's specs so it's pretty much confirmed that it will have an Exynos 3472 dual-core 1.2GHz processor as well as the Mali-400 MP4 GPU, 4GB of storage, a 250 mAH battery as well as Bluetooth 4.1

As for the display, expect a Super AMOLED screen with a 360x360 resolution. As to the actual design and size, all that's known is that it will feature a digital crown like Apple's as well as a bezel ring for navigation. Samsung has also been rumoured to be working with names like Swarovski, Zegna, Tech21, Anymode and Incipio to create custom bands for the coming smartwatch.

Pricing and availability will all likely be revealed next month when the Note 5 gets launched, earlier than usual to perhaps avoid being crushed in September's Apple iPhone launch. Could this be the smartwatch to steal Apple's thunder? We're just waiting to see whether the watch will be running Tizen as reported and not Android.
