Loved the Oppo R9? You’ll fancy the R9s even more, especially if you’re a big fan of mobile photography.
The 5.5in phone comes with a 1080p AMOLED screen to do justice to all the shots you’ll be taking with its specially designed camera. It holds a 16MP snapper that has a big fat f/1.7 aperture to let more light into your night shots. There’s also dual PDAF tech to make every shot a speedy and clear sureshot.
Under the hood, it sports a Qualcomm octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (expandable to 256GB via microSD) for your multitasking and media-hoarding needs. Running Colour OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0, the R9s is powered by a 3010mAh juicebox and Oppo’s legendary VOOC fast-charging tech. The solid state home button is reminiscent of the latest iPhone’s but don’t worry, it still comes with a headphone jack.
If you have design OCD, you’ll be glad that there aren’t any unsightly chunky antenna lines that will make you want to slap a cover on it here. The antenna lines happen in the form of three fine lines running across its back at the top and bottom. It’s a minor detail that goes a long way in updating the look of the phone.
Pre-orders for the R9s start today till 9 December for S$679. The Gold will be on sale from 10 December, but if you want the Rose Gold flavour, you’ll have to wait until January. Get yours at any Oppo Concept Store, your friendly neighbourhood telco, or online at Lazada if you’re feeling lazy.
