The Oppo N3 is official, but will the speculated Oppo U3 see daylight?

It’s literally been weeks since Oppo took the wraps off its flagship N3 smartphone, and if you need a jolt to your memory as to which device this is, it’s the one with a 16MP smart motorised camera that can take up to 206 degrees of rotation.

And now, rumours of another smartphone from the electronics manufacturer are making its rounds. The yet to be heard of device is said to be the Oppo U3, and rumours surrounding it have been rife since it got benchmarked on GFXBench.

As you should expect from a leak off GFXBench, a handful of some of its most important specs have been revealed. Sources claim that the device will be a 4.6in, 1080p touchscreen unit.

It might boast a 2MP back snapper with 4K (UHD) video recording support, a 5MP front camera with 1080p video capture, and the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS connectivity. It may come out of the box with Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

In addition, it’s expected to be powered by a MediaTek MT6752 SoC with a 1.7 GHz octa-core CPU, and an ARM Mali-T760 GPU, supported by 2GB of RAM. But the benchmark reported 1.1GB as the device’s built-in storage space, which seems exceedingly low when considering its other specs.

It’s also been speculated that the Oppo U3 will be out before the end of this year – which means it might be coming in the next six weeks or so, since we’re already almost halfway into November.
