An unseemingly compact car fitted with the best parts engineered by Nissan's race and rally research team Nismo turned heads at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Foolhardy or amazing?
Meet Nissan's Juke Nismo RS, a 215- horsepower tuned compact car which set a Guinness World Record for the quickest driven mile but with a twist: on two wheels. This is made possible by putting stunt driver Terry Grant behind the wheels and the car actually balanced on the two wheels from the driver's side throughout the whole mile.
To launch it into the stance, the car drives onto an angled ramp and if you watch the video you can see Grant balancing the car by constantly wrestling with the wheel. What is amazing is that he could only use one hand to steer while using the other hand to prop himself out of the window and still maintain a good speed by completing the course in just 2:10, breaking the previous record time of 2:45.
Grant actually holds more than 20 world records and his accomplishments includes the fastest one-mile time driven in reverse (1:37),the most people in a car while driving on two wheels (15) and the highest number of donuts in 100 seconds (39).
