Bid farewell to the Fujifilm X20. Its successor, the Fujifilm X30, is coming soon and it builds on the success of its predecessor and features new functions and improvements that make it one of the handiest devices in the market.

The most outstanding difference between the two units is the newly-developed Real Time Viewfinder, which provides real-time feeds of what you’ll be able to capture when you click on the shutter button – including exposure previews.

According to the Japanese multi-national imaging company, this new Viewfinder is the largest, fastest, and highest resolving one in its class thanks to its 2/3in X-Trans CMOS II sensor, EXR Processor II image processing engine and a Classic Chrome film simulation mode.

There’s also a new control ring for the X30 that is positioned on the lens just behind its current manual zoom control. What this does is allow you to immediately change aperture and shutter speed, while at the same time, alter ISO sensitivity, film simulation, white balance, and other composition fine-tuning.

There's more...

Further additions include a new tilting 3in 920K-dot premium clear LCD back display for shooting from any angle, as well as an enhanced battery life with an energy-saving design (apparently good enough for 470 snaps per charge) that juices up via micro USB, just like Sony’s RX-100 series.

There’s a choice of two color options: the traditional unit in black, or one in silver for those that prefer a more flashy camera.

Fujifilm’s also rolled out a pre-order promotion for the camera that lets you choose from two free gift combos (worth S$399) if you purchase the X30 for S$899 by 7 September 2014.

In addition to that, you’ll need to produce your original warranty card and receipt at Fujifilm Studio to redeem your free gift. If you’re looking to take full advantage of this deal, you should do it soon since it’s only available while stocks last.
