Motorola president confirms the next Moto X is in the works

New model likely appearing in August or September

It seems that Motorola has pretty much confirmed the approximate timeline for the next Moto X. Motorola's president Rick Osterloh pretty much confirmed it on Twitter as part of a Q&A session hashtagged #AskRickO.

Worth waiting for?

Motorola it seems will be keeping to an annual cycle for its production and that means we can rightly guess the next Moto X will come out in August or September.

Precious little has been released about the device's specs, though it is almost certain the next Moto X will be running an upgraded processor, with it likely being the Snapdragon 810 chip. But its heating issues could be problematic, thus there's a chance that Motorola could go for a cooler processor if the Snapdragon 815 or 820 arrive in time.

The Moto X is currently one of the best Android smartphones around, though not quite as cheap as the slew of high-powered, uber-cheap phones from China and not as fancy as higher-end models from the likes of HTC and Samsung. We'll have to see what Motorola has to keep its flagship model competitive.
