The monster-eyed Nokia Lumia 1020 lands in Singapore

It’s a camera! It’s a phone! No, it’s the Lumia 1020!

Much of the Nokia Lumia 1020’s camera prowess has been carelessly bandied about, but today, we witnessed it in the flash.

$999 calls it

We’ve heard all about its six-lens Carl Zeiss optics and its whopping 41-megapixel sensor, but it’s not just about the size of the sensor, it’s also how you use it. The Lumia 1020’s snapper smarts allow for a picture to be taken first and then zoomed in on later to dish out copious amounts of detail via the Nokia Pro Camera app, while its dual-capture feature takes both a 38-megapixel image and a 5-megapixel one for editing or sharing purposes. We could go on bleating about its awesome photography skills, or you can just hop on over to when we got upclose with the Lumia 1020, and even pitted it against another superphone.

The 32GB Lumia 1020 comes in colour options of yellow, white and black and retails for $999 starting Saturday, 5 October 2013, or you can pre-order it from 26 September 2013 at Nokia Stores, Nokia Solutions Partners and local operators. And if you’re quick about it, a Nokia Camera Grip (worth $98) comes bundled while stocks last.
