Remember last year’s Mi Max and its huge screen and battery? Well, there’s a sequel in the Mi Max 2.
The screen is still pretty large, think a 6.44in Full HD display and a 5300mAh battery to match.
Xiaomi says that the phone can go as long as 18 hours for video playback, 57 hours of talktime and 21 hours of GPS navigation.Thankfully it comes with USB Type-C charging and with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0, the phone is (according to Xiaomi) able to charge up to 68 per cent in just an hour.
On the inside you’ll find a Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB RAM as well as two storage options – 64GB or 128GB, with up to 128GB microSD support.
It’s also pretty slick on the outside with its full metal unibody, which only comes in gold at the moment.
If you’re keen on it, another reason to be is that Xiaomi is planning to bring split-screen to the phone’s display, taking advantage of the bigger space the phone offers.
Camera-wise there’s a 12MP Sony IMX386 1.24micron large-pixel camera in the rear with a 5MP front camera with a wide-angle lens. The fingerprint sensor is on the back, and there’s also an IR blaster as well.
Prices start at RMB1699 (S$345) with global availability yet to be announced.
