Surprised? Not really, because it's just a matter of time before StarHub announces its price plans for the Apple iPhone SE.
Unlike Singtel, you don't have to option to choose a customisable plan to adjust your talktime, SMS and data quota. But rather, you get to choose between the normal 4G plans or a HomeHub Go bundle which tosses in a fibre broadband and 7GB of mobile data. This particular plan, which starts from SS$128.80 per month, fixes the iPhone SE at S$176.
But if you're still going for just a mobile plan, again, our advice is to stick with a 64GB iPhone SE. You start off with a plan that gives you 3GB of data, while the phone is subsided to S$334. Move up the ladder and you'll get 4GB of data with a S$164 price tag on the iPhone SE.
Don't forget, just like Singtel and M1, StarHub has also introduced a package to upsize your data, giving you an additional 3GB for S$6.
Any higher and the iPhone SE will be free. Yes, free. Sounds like a good deal but you'll have to remember that these days, getting a contract-free mobile plan to go with an affordable smartphone might make more sense.
One more thing - you won't be able to place an order just yet with StarHub. The telco will only accept orders from 31 March, so you still have time to consider if you're getting the iPhone SE or even signing up for a two-year contract.
