LG outs Apple's 8K resolution iMac plans

Apple only just updated the iMac with 5K so this is a surprise

LG might have leaked Apple's plans to update its iMac sooner than expected. A press release on its website mentions an Apple 8K display and we're betting it wasn't a mistake.

Hello, shiny

An 8K resolution of 7,680 x 4,320 would certainly look amazing on an iMac. LG's release was about what 8K could do and where 8K is going and mentioned this particular line: "Apple has also announced that they will release the ‘iMac 8K’ with a super-high resolution display later this year."

Apple has made no such announcement. Likely it is currently developing those high-resolution screens with LG right now and has made no plans to release the devices just yet, especially with so many 5K iMacs still in the inventory. Still, Apple has a track record of cannibalising its own products with surprise releases, so fingers crossed, an 8K iMac could even be out before Christmas this year.

The question is - will Apple add more to the next iMac besides a stunning display?
