Lenovo moves into the wearables space

Every tech vendor now wants in to the wearable devices space and Lenovo’s not one to lag behind – it’s launched the SW-B100 smartband, marking its first foray into the wearable tech space. This fitness tracker doesn’t do much different from the standard fitness tracker, so expect the usual features and quick notifications on this wearable tech.

Microsoft drops Nokia name for Lumia range

Nokia won’t brand your Lumia smartphones anymore. Following Microsoft’s acquisition of the company, you’ll be seeing the range named “Microsoft Lumia” instead, putting an end to any sort of confusion that has been making its rounds. It’s also expected to put a basic Windows logo on the devices instead.

Google revolutionises the traditional inbox

Inboxes can get pretty messy, especially if you’re one to get a bunch of emails every single day. But Google now thinks it’s got a simplified way to access Gmail with its Inbox Gmail manager. It basically highlights important messages in a quick-read feed, bundles complimentary messages and acts as a main hub for everything essential going on at any given time.

Fitbit reveals new smartband line-up

Fitbit’s one of the first few to make its mark in the wearable devices space and it’s still going strong. The company’s launched a new range of smartbands, namely the budget priced Charge, Charge HR, and smartwatch-rivalling Surge fitness trackers. Although, the entry-level Fitbit Charge will be available from 17 November but the Charge HR or Fitbit Surge won't land in shops until "early 2015."

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus lands in Europe

There was no hype or buzz surrounding the launch of Samsung’s latest device, the Galaxy S5 Plus. The vendor launched the smartphone in the Netherlands without the usual fanfare but its unit doesn’t fail in terms of specs. It’s upgraded the unit with a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor in place of the original Galaxy S5's Snapdragon 801 processor, although the unit could do with some graphic improvements.
