Apple will be axing its iPad mini lineup, including the recently launched iPad mini 3, following the release of its alleged iPad Pro tablet. That is, if you believe the rumours that have been circulating from a Chinese source, UDN.
According to the source, since its 4in flagship smartphone was no longer in trend and got easily replaced by 4.7in and 5.5in units, the same should be expected out of its tablet range. It claimed a new tablet strategy could be expected as early as 2015 and the mini range will be replaced with a larger 12.2in iPad Pro line-up.
In addition, it stated that the move might be looming since not much of an upgrade was made to the iPad mini 3 from its predecessor and is a result of the mini’s dwindling sales figures.
The Apple Watch is coming
This piece of news might dampen the spirits of the mini lovers, but it’s all good new for the followers of the Apple Watch. Sources claim that its senior vice-president of retail and online stores, Angela Ahrendts, revealed to retail employees in a video message that the wearable device will be made available sometime after mid February next year.
“We’re going into the holidays, we’ll go into Chinese New Year, and then we’ve got a new watch launch coming in the spring,” a transcript provided by “a source” stated. If there is any truth to this claim, it gives us a clearer picture as to when the smartwatch will make its retail debut, as up till this point, all we knew was that it will officially ship in “early 2015”.
We guess that means you won’t be giving the Apple Watch to your crush or partner this Valentines’ Day.
