Some of you might have been rooting for HTC to unveil the Google Nexus 9 at its Double Exposure event last week. Sadly, that didn’t happen. So is the HTC Nexus 9 still in the company’s product roadmap you ask?
Apparently so – recent documents published, but later removed by Nvidia, confirmed the arrival of the tablet. Now, Bright Side of News has indicated that it could make its big debut on 15 October (yes, just days from now).
The source also mentioned that it could come with a price tag of US$399 (S$507). This amount or launch date for that matter is yet to be confirmed by HTC but if that was the case, it would mean that the Nexus 9 would be the priciest Nexus tablet.
But you’ve got to keep in mind that’s the price you’ve got to pay for a highly spec-ed tablet. The HTC Nexus 9 tablet is said to boast a hugely powerful Nvidia Tegra K1 processor and a “thick aluminium body”, in addition to Android L, 16GB or 32GB of storage, 2GB of RAM and a 2K display with 2048 x 1440 pixels.
As for its release date, if it does come out in the coming days, you’ll be able to have it in your hands on 3 November, which is around the time when most of the other Nexus devices were out.
But considering the looming purported launch date and the fact that no press invites were sent out, we think the device will be launched without a dedicated event. If the rumours pan out to be true, we’ll have more news for you about the Nexus 9 in the coming days.
