Honda gets the OK to run self-driving cars in California

First California, then who knows where else?

Looks like Honda's been busy with its own self-driving car plans. It recently got permission from the California DMV to run its self-driving cars on California public roads. Not that it's the only company - it's just one of 10 that have acquired the needed approval.

What do we know so far about Honda's self-driving car? It recently announced a prototype Acura RLX but precious other details have emerged about Honda's vehicle. Though Honda did also just sign a deal with a vehicle testing facility in Concord.

Besides Honda, the other companies with permission to drive their autonomous vehicles on California public roads are:Delphi Automotive, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Cruise Automation, Bosch, Google, Tesla Motors Inc, Nissan Motor Co and Volkswagen. So cars might not be flying but a future where cars drive themselves looks pretty imminent.
