There’s no disputing that Oakley is the king of eyewear brands, while Scuderia Ferrari is the car behind anyone’s racing dreams.
So what happens when you put the two of them together? You get a dream team come true, along with the birth of the Oakley Scuderia Ferrari eyewear range. The collaboration created an eight-piece eyewear line – including the highly anticipated Scuderia Ferrari Carbon Blade eyewear – and was launched in Singapore last week.
The collection, which was unveiled at the new Ferrari store at The Shoppes, Marina Bay Sands, also includes other designs such as the Tin Can model, the Chainlink Asian fit model, as well as the TwoFace Asian fit model.
Inspired by the namesake racing team, these special editions are the first products created to celebrate the alliance between these two leaders of innovation. Custom packaging and a custom case make each edition a collectible.
It's all about the materials
According to Oakley, the creative direction behind each of the eyewear pieces lies in the materials used to create it. Since carbon fibre is central to the engineering process at Scuderia Ferrari, Oakley moulded the carbon layers into a flexible frame structure.
The entire range also carries colour highlights in Scuderia Ferrari red and is laser-etched with the Scuderia Ferrari emblem in the corner of the lens.
Scuderia Ferrari’s top racers, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Räikkönen, have been named the international ambassadors – they will carry the Oakley logo on their F1 helmets this year, and wear the Scuderia Ferrari Carbon Blade on and off the track.
You can purchase your own Oakley Scuderia Ferrari eyewear at Oakley authorised dealer stores Singapore-wide, with prices starting from S$319. Have we enticed you enough to want one now?
