MWC 2015 is just a few weeks away – and we’re getting high on leaks of the likes of the unofficial Samsung Galaxy S6, HTC One (M9), and the Sony Xperia Z4. But Sony might burst our bubble since rumours are indicating the Xperia Z4 line-up won’t make it to the trade show.
The main indication is the lack of leaks as compared to those of some other flagship devices flooding our site. Sources claim this could mean that either Sony’s suddenly glued all loose lips or that the units are not going to make a grand entrance at Barcelona this March.
So although Sony’s traditionally kept to an end-of-March release schedule for its premium products, sources are now indicating that the Xperia Z4 range will only be unveiled sometime in Q2 this year.
Another reason these sources have highlighted to back up their claim is the recent announcement of a purple Xperia Z3 variant. This could mean that the company’s focus is still on keeping fresh the Xperia Z3 line-up.
But these rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt – we’ve also got enough evidence from previous leaks that suggest the range is ripe for release. Some specs, spyshots, and component details have made their way online, suggesting that there’s reason to believe its arrival.
Then again, there’s also the report that suggests it will be delayed till later in the year, due to shortages of the Snapdragon 810 chipset. We guess we’ll have to wait until MWC 2015 to find out which of these sources are right.
