Grab’s latest campaign New Places, New Faces is in collaboration with Tinder, everyone’s favourite dating app.
The point of this campaign is to encourage people to get into the spirit of ride-sharing and embrace the possibility of meeting new people and new...experiences. Seven social media personalities, like fitness enthusiast Cheryl Tay and regular nice guy Ben Tang, will each park themselves in a GrabShare ride come Friday to share a ride with you. At the end of the day, each will pick a fellow passenger that’s made a lasting impression on them to share an all-expensed paid day out on 21 May, organised by matchmakers Grab and Tinder. Fun!
If sharing a ride with one of these people sounds like your idea of Friday fun, all you need to do is open up the app on 19 May from 11am to 4pm, look for the Tinder flame icon, and cross for your fingers for your turn. Rides will be filmed so keep an eye out for the awkward moments on Grab’s own Facebook page. Still clueless about who these social media personalities are? Grab and Tinder will be sharing a bit more about them on their social platforms in the days leading up to the activation.
We’re not quite sure what sort of message this ultimately sends out, since some riders spend most of their time trying to avoid situations like this (give us puppies or a good cause anyday). But keep in mind that the activation is a choice, just like making eye contact and conversation are.
