If you’re still on the fence about the Google Nexus 6P, you don’t have long to decide because Huawei has confirmed that it’ll be bringing the phone to Singapore.
Well, sort of. Because it has announced the retail price of its Nexus 6P via Facebook. Starting from S$949 for the 64GB version and going up to S$1049 for the massive 128GB model, these Nexus 6P phones will be “coming soon”. Exactly when is another question that Huawei will answer in their subsequent posts on Facebook.
The Nexus 6P’s hardware isn’t to be scoffed at as it’s armed to the teeth with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM. On the surface, you’ll be greeted with a 5.7in AMOLED displaying 2560 x 1440 pixels, all protected by a hardy Gorilla Glass 4 screen.
Fingerprint sensor are here to stay, though it’s situated at the rear of the device just below its 12.3MP rear camera with sapphire glass protection. Its front camera throws in an 8MP sensor, complete with HDR+. One thing to note, you’ll have to start relying on a USB-C connector to charge the phone. Not really a bad thing since you won’t have to check if the connector is right side up before you jab the cable in.
Given that there’s also a pre-order price (S$899 for 64GB and S$999 for 128GB), this could mean a while more before the phone is available. Judging from most pre-order timelines, this could take up to two weeks, so be prepared for the Nexus 6P’s arrival sometime this month or next.
Update 26 Oct: Lazada is confirmed as the official online retailer for the Nexus 6P at the abovementioned pre-order discounted prices. The site will be accepting pre-orders from 2 November. You can expect the Android smartphone delivered to your doorstep between 16 to 17 November.
