Google bags Songza
Music streaming services seem to be what tech vendors are very interested in. With Apple acquiring Beats weeks ago, Google’s also made a similar move that will see it strengthen its hold on the online music business. It’s bought over Songza for a speculated US$15 million. Does this mean Google’s beefing up its existing Play Music streaming service?

Is Microsoft creating a cross-platform smartband?
Word’s out on the tech street that Microsoft’s got a smartband in the works instead of a Microsoft smartwatch – and it'll work with your smartphone regardless if it’s an Android, Windows Phone, or an iOS device. How true this is, we’ll just have to wait and see. But the rumour itself is going to have other manufacturers raising their eyebrows.
Apple’s audio quality might get better
If you’ve been quietly hoping for better sound quality from your Apple speakers or headphones, your wish might soon come true. Apple’s been awarded a patent that showcases its idea to use a light gas like helium behind its speaker/headphone cone, resulting in a sharper and faithful sound reproduction.
Samsung’s apparently making a Galaxy F smartphone
Move over Apple, Samsung’s planning to overhaul iPhone sales with its Galaxy F, according to gossip from @evleaks’ Twitter account. This purported device will apparently sport a metal build backing (which seems to be quite a hit with people if you go by the LG G3 take-up), and it might be launched on 12 September.
Leaks of Sony’s Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact surface
Chinese site Digi-Wo has leaked some snaps of what is believed to be Sony’s Xperia Z3 and Z3 compact smartphones. Nothing’s set in stone yet about the devices, but the devices are rumoured to have 3GB of RAM and a whopping 20.7MP camera. And they could be waterproof too. Three words: underwater HD selfies.
