Believe it: The Sims have been around for 15 years and is celebrating its anniversary this coming Feb 4. EA just announced that as part of the festivities, The Sims 4 will be available as part of the Origin Game Time program. Game Time has so far allowed gamers limited time options to play games such as Titanfall and Battlefield 4. It's a lot like Steam's free gaming weekends for popular titles.
The Sims 4 has had tepid reviews, with accusations that the title was stripped of many features the previous iterations had including swimming pools and toddlers.
No pool deaths, sorry
Despite the hype surrounding the launch, the Sims 4 was not seen as particularly revolutionary though gamers did concede the game was less taxing on their game systems compared to Sims 3.
To get your Sims on, just login to Origin and locate the Sims 4 in the Origins store. It's a 10GB download though and you have from 4 p.m. PST January 22, 2015 through 10 a.m. PST February 2, 2015 to play.
Who knows? You might just find it the next best thing to voodoo dolls or relieve stress by letting loose your inner mass murderer. Try not to set all your Sims on fire, please.
