You know how it is: you're lounging in your pool (you don't have a pool? Who doesn't have a pool?) but something's missing: your tunes.
Monster has come to the rescue with its SuperStar BackFloat speaker, a wireless stereo speaker that floats on water.
The SuperStar BackFloat connects with your smartphone over Bluetooth, USB or 3.5mm aux in connector, and sports a shock-proof shell for outdoor use. You also get a noise-cancelling mic for hands-free calls on your phone. It's also splash-proof, and can be flung in the pool or bath, where it will cheerfully bob about, pumping out your tunes.
We had a listen to the BackFloat speaker at Monster's CES 2015 press launch; although it was competing with the PA speakers right next to it, it delivered clear, punchy audio, if a little tinny and treble-heavy.
We also got to see it performing its party trick, bobbing about in a tank of water; watching the water drops dance about on the speakers as it pumped out tunes is an entertainment in itself.
The Monster SuperStar BackFloat will be available in black with blue or yellow detailing, priced US$170 (S$215); there's no word yet on SG pricing or availability.
